Bridge into the Woods

Welcome

You found your way here for a reason.

You might be seeking support, searching for tools to help you de-stress, looking for a safe space to explore your identity, needing to process your emotions regarding the state of our current world, or maybe you're not quite sure what you're needing yet but something has to change.

Whatever the reason, I am here to help.

Therapy

About Me

A woman dressed in a maroon top poses smiling at the camera with greenery behind her. The woman has wire rimmed glasses, short blonde hair, and has tattoos visible on both arms.

I know it can be difficult to reach out for help and I strongly believe it is a sign of strength to be ready to take that step. And you aren't alone-we all need support in our lives.

As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I am passionate about offering services for the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities. I work with folks looking to discuss concerns related to sexual or gender identity as well as folks simply wanting to enter into a therapeutic relationship in a welcoming space with a queer therapist. I am sex positive and welcome clients of sexual, relational, and gender diversity. I am poly/ethical non-monogamy affirming and kink aware. As a white individual, I am committed to doing my own anti-racism work and to unlearning oppressive values and practices.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (licensed in Texas and Florida) as well as a graduate of Dharma Yoga's 200 hour teacher training.

I am married to a wonderful partner and we are mamas to an adorable, geriatric dachshund. Outside of being a therapist, I love to spend time in nature, read, travel, create art/crafts, start home DIY projects (and sometimes finish them...), spend time with the people I love, and try to keep my plants alive.

Therapy

What will a therapy session with me look like?

Therapy sessions can look many ways, depending on what you are needing! My intention is to provide a space that is warm, authentic, and compassionate to help you work on your goals. I will bring my knowledge, skills, and resources into our sessions while honoring your intuition and wisdom about your needs.

Some of the common goals I help people work towards include:

  • Decrease anxiety, stress, and depressive symptoms

  • Help you recognize how societal and cultural expectations are impacting you and help you evaluate which expectations work for you and which ones you would like to let go of

  • Increase emotional regulation & develop coping skills

  • Learn mindfulness/meditation

  • Explore identity (gender, sexuality, relationship structures, etc.)

  • Connect with your body and your emotions (yoga can be incorporated to assist with this goal)

  • Navigate life transitions

  • Establish and enforce boundaries in your life

  • Strengthening Self-Compassion

  • Help you understand your brain and your executive functioning

  • Release trauma (I am trained in EMDR, which is an evidence-based treatment to process trauma and other disturbances by using your brain's ability to heal itself)

If you'd like to learn more about my approach or see if my practice might be a good fit for you, please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation. My practice is fully telehealth.
